PROJECTS

I've worked in a huge range of challenging settings from slums to prisons, hospices to schools in deprived areas. I'm motivated to create projects that engage communities, develop skills and find potential in anyone, from children growing up in poverty to adults striving to work on their careers.

Working with practitioners

I've delivered projects and professional development workshops with TATA Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, and Kala Academy, Goa, and Sunaparantha Arts Centre,Goa, as well as in primary schools in Scotland, giving people confidence to use music to work with their communities.

Working with communities

Freelance and in collaboration with Live Music Now and Creative Scotland, I've worked with homeless communities, schools, NGOs, hospitals, hospices, prisons, care homes, libraries & national museums to give wider access to participatory music to a huge range of audiences. Projects have spanned 1 day to 1 year.

Working with teachers

My last job involved mentoring and teaching 26 music teachers for Furtados School of Music, Mumbai. I provided training and on site mentoring, as well as curriculum development.

Working with musicians

I love working with musicians on fun projects. Jennifer Austin and I invented Badmaash in Bombay - playing music in unexpected places in Mumbai. I also play with ceilidh bands, for sessions, for weddings and events.
